Susan Isaac - Polperro Harbour from Roman Bridge

Susan Isaac – Polperro Harbour from Roman Bridge

Very happy to have work in the Spring Group Show of the Saffron Walden Gallery – from today to 31 May. Here is one of the paintings – a view of ‘Polperro Harbour from Roman Bridge’. The colour in it is cool, but for the shot of sunlight hitting the edge of the headland. I was delighted by the dinghy, suspended like a lifeboat alongside the balcony decking of Harbour Studio cottage. Beneath this, the river Pol tumbling out from under the footbridge, is herded between cottage walls and a lined channelled edge that leads the eye on ahead to where the busy, broken freshwater meets the becalmed sea water, gently surging into this upper portion of the harbour.
