The reflective nature of water and the patterns of a variety of boat forms give visual excitement whatever the weather.
This last O3 Gallery painting is of Polperro Harbour when the light had a silvery glint to it, a point in time when the rain had recently lifted. Although the tonal nature of the painting still suggests a minor key, the sun is waiting in the wings. In the foreground, the overlapping boats set up a gently rocking rhythm of forms. They fan about the harbour so that the eye drifts towards the scatter of cottages and the curious backbone of the reclining stretch of land.
