Our last day in Whitby. Spent it walking around the town, looking in shops and drinking tea in the cottage, looking out over the harbour.
We ate a picnic evening meal on the beach before we drove home. Feeling very inspired with what we have seen – texture, colour, light, space.
Hi, lovely to read about Whitby, Staithes etc. Whilst we have stunning scenery here the coastal towns lack the character and ambiance of the English seaside towns. The other thing we notice is the lack of smells – seaweed, diesel from fishing boats, vinegar from fish & chip shops. Not many seagulls either.
We went to Tauranga last weekend and picked up an art brochure which we will send to you. Hopefully you will get an idea of some of the art over here in NZ.
Keep up the good work.
Jonathon.
