Some time ago, I started a picture of Southwell Minster from a garden off Westgate – spent the day reworking it. I really liked the luxuriant cascading foliage hanging down in front of the Minster facade.

Susan, I greatly like the way you have found such a consistent vision in your paintings, and that you are pursuing it with commitment and energy. The paintings are about summoning place, of course, but just as equally they are about paint and the application of it, which makes any appreciation of the works a double pleasure. i don’t think one would ever tire of that rich foreground, nor of the evocation of stone scintillating against that lovely blue.
