On the wharfage at #Staithes the 'Cod and Lobster' has its north facing footings regularly embraced -sometimes quite roughly - by the harbour tide, whilst a surf of cobbles surges up and around from behind. This painting records a 'mill-pond' evening with drinkers sitting outside enjoying the last of the light dissolving behind Penny Nab.I love to climb up high above the pan-tiled cottages of #Staithes to find quirky toy-town perspectives. In this view I’ve lost the sky altogether. The diagonals of the Cowbar Nab cliff edge and the breakwater, relieve the repeating regularity of roofs and chimney stacks.In the face of all the news horrors a reminder of how lovely humans can be.So pleased at the weekend to have caught this spectacular show at the Djanogly Gallery in @lakesidearts by Saad Qureshi @saad_qureshi_studio - ‘Conversations Before the End of Time'. On to 14 April.After the party!
