Grateful for a recent little flurry of painting sales at @staithes_gallery starting with this view of 'Cow Bar Nab & North Side at Staithes' (oil on canvas, 76x76cm) - in this case it was lovely to get a message from the buyers explaining why it is so special to them (a long familial link to the place, with memories of swimming in this spot). Its always good to sell work - and having not long come back from a painting week in Norfolk, it feels apposite to hear that this one is off to a new owner. "Moored boats (Blakeney)", Oil on canvas, 51x51cm - many thanks to gallerist @billtickner at the Saffron Walden Gallery. My piece, 'Approaching the Norman Gate', from the En Plein Air Windsor & Eton Platinum Jubilee event with @visitwindsoruk at @windsor.castle yesterday - a long and full on, but satisfying, day painting from 9:30am to finish just ahead of 4pm, all the way through cheerfully looked after by the team of volunteer Royal Borough Ambassadors.Find myself at @windsor.castle for the day as part of the En Plein Air Windsor and Eton - Platinum Jubilee event with @VisitwindsorukLast week was so busy I didn't manage to post all of the work I did as part of @PaintOutNorfolk #PON2022 - this was from Tuesday (the hottest day), when I worked at @creakeabbey. I had to give in at midday, retreating to my airbnb to escape the heat of the afternoon - but went back in the evening to finish it. Beautiful location ...Search Susan’s blog

St Ives Paintings
Worked on three views of St Ives based around Smeaton’s Pier. The first, using a triptych of canvases, is looking back down the pier towards The Wharf. Quite pleased with the colour and texture in the composition. For the second view I thought … Continue reading
