My commissioned piece prepared for the LAOTY final was of our resident electricity pylon. I’ve learned to enjoy its dramatic hard edged appearance against our very mild Nottinghamshire pasture land. Fortuitously the piece of grassland in which it resides was just being cut for haymaking and the land was corded with lines of turned hay, running at an angle to the pylon wires and creating some nice perspective lines.
