My semi-final painting from episode 7 in Series 10 of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year, broadcast in 2025 – which gained me a place in the series final.

HMS Warrior was the Royal Navy’s first armour-plated, iron-hulled warship built in 1860. The hull gave potential for ramming enemy ships, a tactic returning to use at the time. Mindful of its (albeit unused) technology as a powerful instrument of aggression, I placed the Spinnaker tower adjacent to the ship as if it were being pierced by the advancing prow.
